Well, I was going through my old Sea World photos the other day and realized that I somehow did not keep
ANY of my San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park photos. What is up with that?! How could I be so... so... well, anyway... that fueled my drive to go to a zoo and take as many photos as I possibly can. I was a little disappointed because I wasn't going to be able to go to a zoo until our trip to Oregon this summer which will give me opportunities to photograph animals at both the Oregon Coast Aquarium as well as the Oregon Zoo. Since that won't be happening until... like August... I was disappointed.
So, I sulked for awhile, knowing that my only photo opportunities in the near future is the branding next weekend and my trip home... but then I remembered something. Billings has a zoo. Wait a minute... we have a zoo in Montana? What the heck? How did I not know that it existed until I moved here? Well, I suppose the lack of animals in the zoo would lead me to believe my family never really considered going there... but I figured they must have some kind of animals to photograph. I logged onto the net and googled montana zoos and what do i get? The official homepage of Zoo Montana.
What an original name
Like I guessed, there aren't many animals in the zoo... but they do have tigers and wolves and those are two of the animals I was looking forward to photographing the most. I was sad to find out that Bruno, the brown bear, hasn't arrived at the zoo yet, but he'll be there soon.
So, I went to the zoo this morning. Huzzah! I came to realize that I need to buy a better lens for my camera so I can get better photos of the animals, particularly the wolves because they tend to steer clear of being too close to the only viewing area that isn't a full fence.
Stupid fence... my camera couldn't focus through the bars...
Anyway... because of the bars in the fence, I was also not able to get very good photos of the porcupine. He was adorable though. The underwater viewing of the otter was rather disgusting... lets just say they need to clean the tank.... Poor otters

Anyway... hope you enjoy my photos!
Oh, sorry... one more rant. So... after I photographed the two bald eagles, my friends and I decided to go to the reptile section of the zoo. We walked into the building expecting to get to see some icky snakes or something and found a birthday party going on in the middle of the reptile room.
WTF?! Who lets someone have a birthday party in the middle of the room so people can't enjoy the exhibits?! I mean seriously... COME ON! Argh.... /end rant
